Ralf Rangnick Bayern Munich

Ralf Rangnick linked with Bayern Munich managerial position

Rangnick emerges as a strong contender to replace Thomas Tuchel

Austria coach could step into the spotlight at the Allianz Arena this summer

Ralf Rangnick, currently in charge of the Austrian national team, is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement for Thomas Tuchel as head coach of Bayern Munich this summer.

According to German newspaper tz, Bayern are in talks with Rangnick about taking over the reins at the Allianz Arena. The 64-year-old has a wealth of experience in management, having previously coached RB Leipzig, Schalke and Manchester United, among others.

Rangnick is said to be one of several candidates on Bayern's shortlist, which also includes Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi. However, Rangnick's experience and success in Germany could give him the edge over his rivals.

Rangnick has a reputation for developing young players and implementing a high-pressing, attacking style of play. He is also seen as a strong disciplinarian and a good tactician.

If Rangnick were to take over at Bayern, he would be expected to challenge for the Bundesliga title and make a deep run in the Champions League. Bayern have not won the Bundesliga since 2021 and have not reached the Champions League final since 2020.

Rangnick's appointment would be a significant departure from Bayern's recent trend of appointing young, up-and-coming coaches. However, his experience and success could make him the ideal candidate to lead Bayern back to the top of German and European football.
